About ‹edition carpe plumbum›

Carpe Plumbum is a workshop for letterpress and relief printing, located in the “Spinnerei” in Leipzig – a former Cotton factory
that now hosts artists, designers and galleries.

In the workshop hundreds of typecases and several presses (from 3 FAG proof presses to the 70x100cm “Präsident” Cylinder press) offer varied possibilities for printwork.

I work together with artists and designers, printing cards and small editions, as well as larger editions such as posters and books; for example all the original graphic LUBOK books are printed here. See www.lubok.de for more.

Studio: La Chose Typo, Clermont-Ferrand, France

Xavier Zwiller on the FAG Control 839: ‹I bought this press in 2013 from some passionated typographers in a close region from Auvergne (FR). These people had problems to install the press in their studio so it lay dismantled in storage. I hired a transporter and it took me quite some time to properly install the press and get it working. Now it is a real pleasure to print some posters on it!›
