Our letterpress room is part of the printmaking facility at Cambridge School of Art, Anglia Ruskin University. It is used by Undergraduate & Postgraduate students of the art school.
Alessandro Carissimo on the FAG Control 405: ‹We use this press mainly for printing with our wood type and for bigger formats like posters. We lovingly baptized her Sofia Loren. We also own a Leizig Phönix printing press, called Maria Addolorata. Together they are a perfect team!›

In unserem Grafik und Letterpress Printstudio interpretieren wir den klassischen Buchdruck auf moderne Weise.
Traditionelle Handwerkskunst, zeitgemäße Typografie und Grafik und feine Papiere
sind die Zutaten um außergewöhnliche Druckprodukte herzustellen.
Gedruckt wird auf unserer Druckerpresse "Maria Addolorata" oder wenn es mal ein größeres Format sein soll
gerne auch auf unserer Proofpress "Sofia Loren".
Wir sind aus Freude am Handwerk Letterpress Drucker geworden.
Bei uns gibt es keine Industrieware sondern mit Liebe, Geduld und Präzision
gearbeitete Druckprodukte die bleibende Eindrücke schaffen.

The letterpress workshop is one of a number of print facilities at the college. It is open to all students but its primary users are those from the Graphic Communication Design programme. All students will have an induction here as part of a wider introduction to typography, and are then free to use the room for any project work they choose.
In terms of type, we have comprehensive ranges of Caslon, Baskerville, Bell and Univers; and a wide range of other interesting display types from both 19C & 20C.
The letterpress workshop is run by Helen Ingham.
